Candidacy Announcement

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for re-election to the Sandlick District’s seat on the Dickenson County Board of Supervisors through a 'write-in' campaign. I have served as your Supervisor for the past four years and in that time I have established and supported numerous projects to provide jobs for and improve the quality of life of our citizens, I have secured more local and federal money for projects in the Sandlick District than any previous supervisor, and I have successfully fought to reduce wasteful spending and keep the government honest. I hope that my record of experience, leadership, and proven success as your supervisor will bring you out to vote for me on November 6th.

Since this is a write-in campaign, my name will not appear on the ballot and you will have to either type it in on the voting machine or write it in on an absentee ballot.

On the voting machine’s screen, you’ll see two names along with “write in”. To vote for me, select "write in" and a keyboard will appear. Just type in my name, Gene Counts.

You can also call the county voting registrar at 926-1620 to get information about voting by absentee ballot from your home via mail or in person at the DMV building prior to Election Day. The deadline to submit a request to vote absentee is 5PM on October 30th. Absentee ballots are filled out by hand with a pencil and you can write my name in the appropriate blank under the BOS candidates.

Thank you for your support,

Gene Counts
